Picture This…

As the first rays of the South African sun kissed the horizon, the gentle rustle of canvas greets my ears and a cool breeze dances through the tent. I cocoon in that blissful state between wakefulness and sleep. The soft touch of crisp, linens cradle me in unparalleled comfort, and the subtle warmth of the South African morning hint at the adventures that await beyond this canvas sanctuary.

I step out onto the wooden deck and am met with the panoramic views of the low veld, a vast expanse of wilderness stretches out before me. In the air I smell the earthy aromas of the wilderness, intermingled with the sweet scent of native flora, creating a symphony of fragrances that whisper tales of untamed beauty. I sip my cup of freshly brewed local coffee. The notes of indigenous spices, tantalize my taste buds.

The day unfolds in a tapestry of vibrant experiences that nourish our mind, body, and soul. Engaging in nourishing conversations with fellow adventurers, our laughter harmonizing with the melodies of the wild become the heartbeat of this luxury safari escapade. We flow in rhythm with one another and the wilderness around us as we practice yoga. I sink deeper into my own skin and the knowing of all that I am.

The warmth of genuine camaraderie envelop us and weave a tight-knit thread between this newly-formed community. An open-air vehicle carries us through the majestic wilderness to reveal nature's wonders at every turn. Troops of elephants splash in a nearby watering hole. Giraffes, and zebras graze beneath the acacia trees.

The golden hues of the setting sun cast a warm glow over the plains as the day gracefully bids us farewell. As evening descends into night, we fellow adventurers sit beside a dancing fire and tell tales of our lives. Laughter intertwines with the crackles of the flames under the star-studded sky.

I am home…

FAQs

  • May 19-26, 2024

  • Fly into Hoedspruit Airport and an airport transfer to Kelora will be waiting for you upon arrival. If you need help figuring out flights, please contact me directly!

  • If you are traveling from the USA or Europe, you WILL NOT need a visa. If you’re traveling with another nationality, please make sure to do the appropriate research.

  • While the airport transfer will be organized specific to your arrival time, I’d recommend your flight arrive and depart around midday. The airport is very small and there are very limited daily flights into Hoedspruit Airport.

  • There is a 4-month payment plan. After the initial non-refundable deposit is paid, the monthly payments need to be made by the 7th of each month.

  • The deposit is non-refundable. Cancelation by March 7th will result in a full refund (not including the initial deposit). Cancelation thereafter will not be refunded. In the VERY UNLIKELY event that Chantal has to cancel, you will receive a FULL REFUND including the initial deposit.

  • Please make sure to have enough cash on you to tip your tour guides and Kelora Bush Camp staff. Most stores accept VISA and MASTERCACARD. Please note that American Express is seldom accepted in South Africa. If you need an idea of an exact ZAR amount, please contact me directly for a recommendation.

  • This is a very low risk Malaria zone and it is unlikely that you will be infected. However, please consult your doctor before traveling.

  • It is highly unlikely that you will need any vaccines to enter South Africa, but I recommend consulting your doctor or another health care professional so you can make an educated decision.

    • Yoga Mat

    • Headlamp

    • Clothes:

Wear clothes that blend with nature. Light cotton clothing in light tones. Choose easy wearing and light clothes as it suits the hot climate. Try to avoid red as this attracts animals. White is highly visible to animals so best to avoid white shirts on bush walks and game drives. A good pair of trainers or hiking shoes. Pack some long sleeve shirt and trousers as it can get chilly in the evenings. A lightweight rain jacket is advisable as it can be cold in the early mornings and early evenings. Hat is very important for those hot days.

    • Toiletries and Medication:

Sunscreen is very important. Choose an SPF between 30 and 50.Pack a small bag or medical kit with some pain killers, any chronic medications (enough for the trip), some insect repellent, any vitamins etc. We have a basic medical kit but please bring your personal necessities.

    • Other accessories

sunglasses, a book, light weight flash light

  • There is WIFI in the camp common spaces. Depending on what cellphone service plan you have, you may get cellphone service in your tent but it is not guaranteed.
